Is it really that important?
With different names, there are many interpretations.
So let it be and don't kill anyone for saying Star Wars, Episode IV - A New Hope. Because that is how it is called now for over a looooong time.
You're dead!
Now let's go over this one more time...
It's STAR WARS Not Star Wars, Episode IV - A New Hope.
It's Raiders of the Lost Ark Not Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.
As for the VHS releases... the first VHS release of the film was called Raiders of the Lost Ark. Even for the weidescreen VHS releases the film was still called Radiers of the Lost Ark. It wasn't until the DVD releases did Lucas decide to add "Indiana Jones and the" to the cover art on the DVD box set. Lucas is an idiot.

Not sure. Who would pause a watched movie just to write here that he's seeing it?
Well when watching a Heimat or La Meglio Gioventu you really need a pause, so it's not that unrealistic
