But who would want my music anyway? The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Me! I think I'd want the music libraries of pretty much anyone in here. Those who have a why to live for can overcome almost any how. -Nietzsche -

IF somebody left me a library of MP3's, and a bunch of stuff -- even if lossless -- that I would have to burn to CD-R's, with no resale value or trading capability, here's what I would do:
Right-click, Delete. Right-click Trashcan, Empty Recycling Bin. Go take a shit. The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

Why does this matter? iTunes files aren't encrypted anymore. Unless they're talking about movies. If they're talking about songs I don't understand what the point is.I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to! -

Thanks for that Justin. The chances are you're not going to be in this position to worry about what to do. Hopefully though you don't have that Palvovian response every time you empty the Recycling Bin.The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

I've been thinking quite a bit lately about who will inherit my collection. It's not very "sexy" to inherit my digital collection. I'm assuming the harddrive will be formatted after my kin has retrieved the most personal objects (pictures and such), and then the PC will probably be thrown away. The physical collection, on the other hand....
If my dad passes before me, I will probably inherit his collection too (thousands of LPs and CDs). Then on top of what I already got, it will be a pain in the ass to store. And I can't think of anyone who will have interest in it, unless my niece or nephews find interest in it.I am extremely serious. -

I think that the important thing is to tell people what you want someone to do it all. I wonder whether to organise with someone on a messageboard to sort out my collection (digital and CDs) so that it's either sold or given to people who would appreciate it.The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Back up all your files on an external drive. Give the external drive to the person you want to have your music. -

I have 2 copies on external hard drives so there will be 2 lucky 'winners'. I just need to tell my executor who they are!The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn
