Here is a clip from a track that I enjoyed. Listen to how the cello mimics a horn and how Dario uses it as part of the orchestration like the typewriter in Atonement.

    Hi sdtom,

Very good review... can't wait for that score to be released!
Can you list the playing times? Would be great!

I'll put it up on maintitles as well this evening. Good review Tom, it definitely is an interesting score concerning the movie alone. Have you seen our interview with Dario?

It's too bad it was released so early in the year as this would be a drawback to getting little Oscar buzz.

The movie looks pretty good, but I can't wait to hear some of Dario's orchestrations for the classical music. Based on the review he was very successful at adapting much of it!

He did such a fine job with the orchestrating that one could make the arguement that it was really somewhat original.

Just heard my first Marianelli score, Atonement, the other day and loved it. Great music; I'll have to check out some of his other stuff.

The Brothers Grimm and V For Vendetta are my favourite Marianelli scores. Check them out if you want to hear his darker, and in my opinion, more interesting side.

You do the man a disservice! Mostly he is most agreeable (though he'd probably be the first to disagree with that).

    Indeed!

The Brave One has a good theme too and it's an interesting listen overall although nothing too special.

On the other side, you might like the soft and melancholic side of the composer with scores like the very emotional SHOOTING DOGS and there's always the elegant classical-oriented Pride & Prejudice which you'll love since you liked ATONEMENT.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

I'll be honest. What I remember from The Brave One is the wonderful song "The Answer", I don't remember the music, I confess ( I know, I know shame on me shame )
As for Pride and Prejudice and Atonement I don't think that anyone could disagree with the fact that we are talking about music gems here! I believe that William will enjoy them very much. I know I did. smile

That score must be a real winner, i am anxious of getting it as well; for me, Marianelli is a guarantee of quality.
