I'm not a particularly big fan of his music (Stealth is ok but the parts I like best are probably by Trevor Morris). My brother, however, being into that sort of thing, has followed his electronica/dance/trance/whatever-you-call it career for some time. Apparently a few days ago BT's baby daughter was abducted by his ex-girlfriend. Knowing how he practically worshipped his daughter (given the song and music video dedicated to her on his latest album) I feel really bad for him...

When I first read this, I thought your brother's child had been abducted! Hope everything turns out ok for BT, but glad it's not your niece.

I only like one of his very first scores, Under Suspicion. After that, he became an arogant yet incredibly mediocre composer, with Catch & Release being his absolute lowpoint.

About the abduction of his daughter; I'm sure everything'll turn out fine.

Never heard his music....not knowingly anyway?

    Hope everything turns out okay.

Hope everything turns out ok in the end but i really have no wishes for more of his....music in the near future wink
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.
  1. I really like some of his music from Monster.

Cues such as "Childhood Montage" and "Ferris Wheel" contain some beautiful stuff.

I edited my post to make it more obvious that it was BT's daughter that was abducted and not my brother's (who is only eighteen and also of alternate sexual preference and is thus unlikely to have children in the near future).

Does anyone have a copy of 300 Years Later? I think that it's one of those industry-produced CDs.

    Who is BT? confused
  2. Brain Transeau. Wrote the music for movies such as Monster and Catch and Release (co-composer).

I think that that's another unfair, sweeping statement. He may not be able to compose the more traditional scores that we all prefer, but there are some nuggets of nice melodic stuff if you care to dig deep enough. As I've said before, some of the music for Monster is quite beautiful - e.g., "Ferris Wheel". And several of the cues on Catch and Release are worth hearing.

I've heard bits of Monster and i wasn't impressed by i admit i haven't heard Catch and Release yet, dear friend smile But Stealth, Driven and his contributions for Fast and the Furious are some of the worst pile of doo-doo's i've heard in a long time! Can't decide who gives me the strongest headaches: him or TB (Tyler Bates wink )

"You can't spell BT without TB."

(No really, I've never heard anything by BT. I have nothing against him, or indeed for him.)

BT is great when he does his stuff. I've not heard that many scores of his, though, but there's one track from STEALTH on the Varese 30th set that is pretty cool. I just wish he could stick with the hard-hitting techno groove bit a bit longer. It's a bit all over the place.
    I am extremely serious.

And I haven't heard Stealth, Driven or what he did on The Fast and The Furious - so, maybe my experience with his music is a bit more "melodic" than his usual output.

  5. Stealth is a hard album, but has a couple of really amazing tracks. It shows the man has potential (yes I'm talking about the vocal Eastern tracks that bring out too much emotion for the movie to carry), but I don't care

Plus that American Fly theme is cool smile
    waaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Where's my nut? arrrghhhhhhh
