The sound clips sound promising. Flying is often an inspiration for composers. I can see at Varèse Sarabande's site that "the Final Flight" cue is ticking at 11 minutes. Nice!

I plan to see the film Saturday, the day after it opens. Will let you all know about the film and score. The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

to honor Jarre's passing, his fried Gabriel Yared wrote a brief hommage that was played at the begin of the WSA's, nothing earth shattering and awfully brief, but it ended with the theme of Lawrence of Arabia, which was nicewaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Where's my nut? arrrghhhhhhh -

I thought it was a very nice piece, too, very appropriate as well. It was filled with motifs from Jarre's music (Arabia, Zhivago), and suitably elegiac (yet not too much). -

I'd love to hear it. Hearing the themes of one composer in the orchestrations of another is one of those things we get very rarely in film music. (The music of John Williams being the exception.)A butterfly thinks therefore I am -

I cannot make much out of these sound clips but they surely sound nice. They sound a bit like something from the Golden Age. -

i.e. Yared's quality But surely, this kind of score is not one that can't be previewed through such short clips. It needs its space to develop and show its graces.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

sorry for the long wait, here's the short tribute to Maurice Jarre, written by Gabriel Yared (I've added the applause of the audience to it, you can edit that out if it annoys you)

Here is Yared's newest score for the film Coco & Igor. I don't think this is an animation
The disc comes out next week. There are some sound clips here:
