You might know the man from his FAITH NO MORE rock years, but he's into film scores now.

    from wiki:

Michael Allan "Mike" Patton (born January 27, 1968) is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and actor, best known as the lead singer of the alternative metal band Faith No More. He was also the founder and lead singer of experimental band Mr. Bungle, and has played with Tomahawk, Fantômas, Lovage, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Peeping Tom.

Known for his eclectic influences and experimental projects, Patton has earned critical praise for his diverse array of vocal techniques. He has many producer or co-producer credits with artists such as John Zorn, Sepultura, Melvins, Melt-Banana, and Kool Keith. He co-founded Ipecac Recordings with Greg Werckman in 1999, and has run the label since.

New score by Mike Patton to be released by Milan Records

The daring new movie from Derek Cianfrance, the director of Blue Valentine, The Place Beyond the Pines is a sweeping emotional drama powerfully exploring the unbreakable bond between fathers and sons.

I did like Faith No More back in the day, but I'm slightly hesitant on the musical and compositional merits inherent in their songs. I'll try and keep an open mind though. Daft Punk blasted any inate cynicism I might had on pop stars doing scores right out of the water!

I was a huge Fath No More fan as well. Patton has covered several Morricone songs in the past, so it seems he's an Ennio fan. Wonder if that will come across in the music.
