    Just a bit of fun...

    HERE'S THE IMAGE

Now what piece of music will YOU put to it?

I thought I'd start off really simple, I expect everyone can come up with multiple choices to go with that image, hopefully, if this remains a popular thread then we can try some more obscure and not so obvious choices that are more left-of-field?

I hope this gets some response, I think it could be fun smile

Typical but Wagner's outstanding Ride of the Valkyries
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

    Nice idea!

Actually, all I can think of is Harry Gregson-Williams' brilliant piece from Prometheus.

I can't remember it. The first piece that came into my head was First Flight from Jerry Goldsmith's SUPERGIRL.

  1. First thing that popped into my head (though the blue is the wrong colour!) was John Williams' Cloud City music from The Empire Strikes Back, "City In The Clouds."

    Then Williams' Superman theme.

  2. Flying (E.T.) - John Williams
The Flying Sequence (Superman) - John Williams

    And for my German conpatriots:

Über den Wolken - Reinhard Mey
Bach's music is vibrant and inspired.

As I said Alan, I think we'll all come up with multiple choices, after doing this spontaneous thread I thought of many 'flight' type tracks by most of my "usual suspects" composers but in the end I came up with THIS ONE by "one of my usual suspect composers" cool wink

For Volker: It's The Mutant from Total Recall

I wouldn't pick it myself, but the obvious choice would be something like "Among the Clouds" from Williams' ALWAYS.

But I would probably go for something with a little more 'presence' myself. Not necessarily film music.
    I am extremely serious.

I purposely narrowed it to just film music Thor, however, if you can think of something outside of that then why not? I don't want this thread to be too restrictive.

OK, I'll try to respect that (I prefer focussed threads myself).

One that came to mind just now is Tim Truman's "Helicopter" from MIAMI VICE which has a very airy, lofty feel:

First thing that came to mind was Back To The Future Part II Main Title. Not very imaginative but I'm going with my first instinct!

I will! I've heard a couple of nice pieces from the score before so have considered looking more into it, but this opening just floored me, so that settles it.

Romantic Flight from How To Train Your Dragon immedeately came to my mind, and then Cody's Flight from Rescuers Down Under, but it's because the photo reminded me of those scenes rather than music.

Anything from Hisaishi's cues for Miyazaki flight scenes would fit! biggrin
