  6. What I can't get is why they start with Williams' fanfare and going to Zimmer then back to Williams.

    Because you want to begin with a bang and end with a bang.
    Whether you like it or not, Williams' Superman theme is iconic, and has been for 35 years.
    So if you want to capture the general audience's imagination, you go with the best known.

    I rather like the amalgam.

    I'm more wondering what Man of Steel is doing there rather than complaining about Williams smile .

    Oh, I see!
    Well, I think it's rather a good cadence to create a rather difficult figure? So maybe that's the driving motive?
    As said though: I rather like it! It's a good mash-up.
