Since Snyder isn't the director, but Israelin director Noam Murro is, I'm sure Jusid was Noam's choice and Snyder took over when overseeing the project after returning from Man of Steel. -

The George Lucas syndrome!I am extremely serious. -

Remember that in the current Hollywood, it's not (just) the director that you have to work with, but the producer (a.k.a. the man in charge of the money) who you have to deal with, to make happy. Sounds like Jusid wasn't working out with EVERYone on the team. -

Four tracks in... and I'm bobbing along like a loon.
Then again, I'm Dutch and I like electronica. (Sounds like my introduction to the Electronics Anonymous club.)www.synchrotones.wordpress.com | www.synchrotones.co.uk | @Synchrotones | facebook | soundcloud | youtube -

I adore electronica (which I was into long before I discovered film music), but I didn't really like DIVERGENT. I do like some of Junkie's previous work, though, and will gladly follow his career in film music.I am extremely serious. -

I agree with Thor. Not a very interesting score and not so cool either.Kazoo -

It's miles and miles beyond his 300 score, though. Nothing amazing or even really memorable, but I was pleasantly surprised. Might have been a case of lowered expectations though. -

I don't share your enthusiasm for this score Jon. The opening track is rather good. But after that I was reminded of Man of Steel too much, didn't care for the so so action rhythms and was actually bored to hell during the middle when all I hear is sound design. If not for the occasional emotional moment, another dull and bleak scorewaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Where's my nut? arrrghhhhhhh -

Great -- a conversation between Michael Bay and the ghost of Stanley Kubrick on the merits of MAD MAX: FURY ROAD!
Personally, I think it's one of the 10 best films of the year (I've seen about 70 films from 2015 so far), and most likely the best of the blockbusters -- at least untill STAR WARS.I am extremely serious. -

I really admire the effort you put into that.
How can you spend so much time and so many words on a score that is this mediocre?'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

Earlier this summer, composer Tom Holkenborg was at the Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Bros. to record his score to the new Johnny Depp drama, Black Mass. Directed by Scott Cooper, the Whitey Bulger crime drama comes out on September 18, and we're thrilled to bring our readers photos from the last scoring session!

Enjoy!I consider a project a success when Thor says he won't buy it -

Very good, Jon. I almost didn't read your review because of my ambivalence toward his music so far, but I was happy to read a positive report. I'll be giving that one a listen. -

Nope. Love JXL's work, and I'm very curious to hear what he can do with a western. Not every western score has to sound like Bruce Broughton's SILVERADO or whatever.I am extremely serious.
