    He´s right. Seriously, Inception is a must-see.

And I just realised I still have that frakkin' spinning top from the movie as my avatar.

    I didn't enjoy it much.
Confusing, noisy and ultimately just not very interesting (despite the intriguing concept)
Pretty much lost interest half-way through (which didn't help appreciating the thoroughly chaotic second half).
Looked good, but to me it was nothing more than just another (slightly more pretentious) Big Summer Blockbuster.

Oh, I don't like the score either. wink

Both film and score are fantastic and a contemporary genre classic! It's one of those films you MUST see, Timmer, even if there's something about it that doesn't automatically intrigue you.
    I am extremely serious.

    Why?
What's so defining about it? Or so genre-bending?

Well, I'm sure you know about the influence of the score.

As for the film, perhaps it wasn't so revolutionary in and of itself. But the way it was told was brilliant -- complex and layered, yet easy enough so that mainstream audiences can follow. And some absolutely fantastic visual realizations of dreams that we've never seen before or since. It's simply speaking a boiling casserolle of original ideas.

    OK, thanks. smile
The film really didn't work for me.

From what Martijn said it pretty much sums up the views of film critics I read plus all the clips I saw didn't do much for me. I'll wait until it turns up on TV.

Why anybody would be shocked that I hadn't seen it is silly. There are far too many films out there I haven't seen that I really want to see.

Well, there are some cornerstones in film history that are must-watch if not only for one's cultural awareness and knowledge (INCEPTION being such a film). But hey -- several classics I haven't seen either. IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, for example, which tends to make Americans shocked when I say it.
    I am extremely serious.

    Inception Hans Zimmer

Favourite Zimmer score. Like all great scores, it's impossible to imagine the film with a better score.

I love this score, easily in my top 5 Zimmer. I've not seen the film.

So do I. May be it is the P.K. Dick connection or it's the electronica, I always associate this with Vangelis' BLADE RUNNER.

Not at all. A) It's recent, B) it's popular, C) it's good, and 4) I assumed this would have been up your alley, especially since you've expressed on numerous occasions how much you like the score. Hence my shock.

I've not seen IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE either. God knows how? It's been on UK TV periodically for years and I even recorded it once on to VHS video ( that's how long ago it was ) and still never watched it.
