I see that This Is The End is finally getting an official album release. I'm sure your part in maintaining awareness for the score was a significant one in the final result and I'm glad to see it pay off!

I highly doubt my interest and praise of the score led to its release but thanks anyway! It's a great score and was one of my favourites from 2013. I happy to see that the rest of the film music community will have the chance to enjoy it as much as I did!

It's a highly symphonic action score by Henry Jackman that Erik featured on his show and praised highly. Fans have been waiting for an album release for a year and a half.

I remember once I got drunk and whined about how he and a bunch of other "insiders" had access to the score and wouldn't leak it and Erik explained to me how that would basically ruin its chances of ever getting officially released. I'm glad he and everyone else did the right thing, a delayed official release is better than an instant crappy 192k bootleg. I'm also glad I don't drink anymore. dizzy

    I see. Thanks for clarifying.

I've seen the film, but didn't care much for it. Can't remember much of the score, but I'd be interested in checking it out now.

  1. Sadly, it would seem that only 13 minutes of the score are actually going to be on the release. sad

Unfortunate, but not that big of a deal IMO, the highlights in the film were fairly brief and the majority of the film was unscored if I remember correctly.

Well, the promo was 20 minutes. A lot of under one minute cues.

Perhaps now all of these soundtrack review sites will finally add the "Award For Best Mentioning of a Score That May or May Not Have Led To Its Release Maybe" category that has been sorely missing from all of them.

I think I'll pat myself on the back when I present my Best of 2015 list next January. I'll even present myself with a statue and give a speech!
