Here's a list of all the film music concerts organised in Gent since 1985 shocked

Nice! Too bad it doesn't say when the composers were present or not. For example, was Georges Delerue in Ghent in 1988? Was Elmer Bernstein there in 2001?

I still think 2010 and 2011 were the strongest years, and I was there!
    I am extremely serious.

Delerue was one of the first guests, and has returned several times. He himself conducted the concert in 1988 if I remember correctly.

Also Bernstein has been to Gent. But not in 2001 (due to 9/11)

Wow. I'd love to have been there when such iconic figures (of that age group) visited. Too bad they never managed to get Williams. Now it's too late. I guess that applies to Morricone too, although he visits Brussels with his own show next year.

Instead, I think they should try and get Michel Legrand as a Lifetime Award recipient, one of the last remaining legends of that era. Or Lalo Schifrin. They should be more feasible than Williams, Morricone, Quincy Jones etc.

The only one I met personally, of this generation, was Jarre. He was very old already but managed to sign an LP of Lawrence of Arabia (which I gave to Martijn then I think) and spoke a few words about the fact that he has never seen this verion or something. I vaguely remember. He died a few months later.
