(July 14, 2015– Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release the WILD HORSES – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on July 24th and on CD October 16, 2015. The album features songs by artists including Caitlin Eadie, Roy Gaines and his Tuxedo Blues Orchestra, Billy Joe Shaver, with score by Timothy Williams (WALKING WITH THE ENEMY, DEBUG) and a special performance of Cheyenne by the film’s writer/director/co-star Robert Duvall.

Starring James Franco and Josh Hartnett, WILD HORSES is the story of Texas Ranger Samantha Payne (Luciana Duvall) who reopens a 15-year-old missing person case, and uncovers evidence that suggests that the boy was likely murdered on a ranch belonging to wealthy family man, Scott Briggs (Robert Duvall). When Scott’s estranged son (James Franco) unexpectedly returns home during the investigation, Samantha becomes even more convinced that the Briggs family was involved, and will stop at nothing to discover the truth about the boy’s death - even putting her own life in jeopardy.

“The music for WILD HORSES was a highlight in the film making process for me,” said Duvall. “The group of talented musicians and producers crafted the music perfectly to enhance the film’s story. Sometimes music can go too far, but Tim Williams, Michael Hodges and their teams found a beautiful balance.”

“Recording Cheyenne was a delight for us both,” explained Luciana Duvall, lead actress and producer. “The music from this film is refreshing and eclectic. We are both glad a soundtrack will be available.”

Michael Hodges, Music Producer for the WILD HORSES film and Co-Producer of the Motion Picture Soundtrack, said, “Recording Cheyenne with Bobby was a lot of fun. A portion of the song appears in the film repeatedly, but Bobby didn’t know how the song finished or any other words from it. He had heard his uncle sing it when he was a kid.”

Hodges and Grammy award winning producer Ken Caillat (Fleetwood Mac, Paul McCartney, Colbie Caillat) located and recorded the song. “We all thought it would be a great treat for Bobby’s fans to have a recording of him singing this classic western song,” Hodges explained. “How many times do you get an opportunity to record or hear a song by Robert Duvall? Not many.”

The soundtrack also features score composed by multi-award winning composer and orchestrator Timothy Williams. The diverse range of original songs include music from Country Music legend, Billy Joe Shaver (a favorite of Mr. Duvall’s), veteran bluesman Roy Gaines, Irish singer/songwriter Nicole Maguire, and soulful artist/songwriter Caitlin Eadie.

“Bobby was very specific about the music being very simple and sparse. He loves the guitar and dobro, and felt those should be the heart of the film,” described Williams. “I loved the idea of the simple group and a local Texan score that felt like it could be wafting over the fence from a neighbor’s yard.”

ABOUT TIMOTHY WILLIAMS (Composer)
Timothy Williams is a multi-award winning composer and orchestrator for film, television, video games and theater. His films have earned over 58 awards. Born in England and raised in Canada, Williams is a trained pianist. He studied music at the Toronto Conservatory of Music and the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Williams relocated to England to continue further studies at the National Film and Television School, and worked at the BBC as an on-staff orchestrator. He would return to Canada a few years later to write the musical NAPOLEON, which opened at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto in 1994, and in London’s West End in 2000.

Eventually Williams’ work would take him to Los Angeles. He has written music for award-winning films including THE MULBERRY TREE, THE BUTTERFLY CIRCUS, HISTORY OF FUTURE FOLK and LUTEFISK WARS. He scored the Tom Hanks produced documentary BEYOND ALL BOUNDARIES . He has written additional music for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, 300, SUCKER PUNCH, WATCHMEN, CONAN THE BARBARIAN, THE BLACK FREIGHTER, SHARK NIGHT 3D and DOOMSDAY. As an orchestrator, Tim has orchestrated over 63 films, over 40 episodes of TV and 8 Video Games for composers including Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz, Tyler Bates, Trent Reznor, Bruce Broughton, Robert Duncan, David Sardy and John Kavanagh. Williams’ recent soundrack releases include RED SKY, DEBUG and WALKING WITH THE ENEMY, released by Lakeshore Records.
