Soundtrack Features Two Selections from the Goldberg Variations, Performances by Sigur Rós, Jónsi & Alex, Yo-Yo Ma and The Film’s Viggo Mortensen

(July 5, 2016 – Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release the CAPTAIN FANTASTIC - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack both digitally and on CD July 15th, 2016. The album features original songs performed by Sigur Rós, Jónsi & Alex, Israel Nash and Kirk Ross. Actors in the film such as Viggo Mortensen, George MacKay, Samantha Isler and Annalise Basso, perform renditions of songs like “Sweet Child O Mine,” “Scotland The Braver,” and “I Shall Be Released” specifically for the film. Alex Somers of Jónsi & Alex composed the score for the film, which is being released separately.

CAPTAIN FANTASTIC tracks the story of a father (Viggo Mortensen) raising six children deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest with a rigorous physical and intellectual education. When a family tragedy occurs, however, he is forced to leave his paradise and enter the world, beginning a journey that challenges his idea of what it means to be a parent. The magic of CAPTAIN FANTASTIC’s extraordinary storytelling can be found in the soundtrack, which features all new compositions by American composer, musician and producer Alex Somers.

Bleecker Street presents CAPTAIN FANTASTIC in theaters worldwide starting July 8, 2016. Lakeshore Records will release the CAPTAIN FANTASTIC - The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack both digitally and on CD July 15th, 2016.
