I probably wouldn't notice if you did. The two-time rule refers to each clue individually.

I'll have a new leader to announce in a moment or two.

Sure, go ahead, Alan. I have a couple of ideas of quizzes I could host, but I can save it for later. The last one you did was really difficult, though. I hope it's a bit easier this time. smile

I hope so, too - or people will just stay away from my contests!

This time it's a simple theme, so that should help with identifying difficult clips. And the chronological order will help also. But there's a lot of clips - I just couldn't miss any out!!

I'll keep my Asian Cinema classics game for another time. wink

I'm completely in love with cue 12. I have heard it a billion times before, but I just can't place where the hell I've heard it. I probably don't have the score, but I'm sure I've seen the movie several times. Very curious about the answer to that one.

Sounds great! I'm a little busy myself, so don't have a game ready. That said, I have collected some great clips to go in a future game, but I need to make some more if I want a coherent theme.

Well done to Thor - an exceptional score.

    The answers...

    1. Bernard Herrmann - Journey to the Centre of the Earth (1959)
    2. Alex North - The Misfits (1962) (Marilyn Monroe's final performance)
    3. Elmer Bernstein - The Hallelujah Trail (1965)
    4. John Barry - The Chase (1966) (I was inspired to include this thanks to a thread on a separate messageboard saying Barry always sounds the same. The fact that hardly anyone guessed this was Barry shows otherwise!)
    5. Jerry Goldsmith - Stagecoach (1966)
    6. Jerry Goldsmith - The Last Run (1971) (This is another one which stumped a lot of people)
    7. John Williams - The Poseidon Adventure (1972)
    8. Miklos Rozsa - The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1974)
    9. Elmer Bernstein - Airplane (1980)
    10. Jerry Goldsmith - Night Crossing (1981) (Most people needed quite a lot of prompting to guess this, which implies to me that few of them are familiar with the score - hopefully some more people will seek it out, because it's top-notch Goldsmith)
    11. Ennio Morricone - Marco Polo (1982)
    12. Danny Elfman - Midnight Run (1988)
    13. Georges Delerue - Dien Bien Phu (1992) (The first of the prime number clues.)
    14. Bruce Broughton - Homeward Bound (1993)
    15. Thomas Newman - John and SAM (1993) (The most obscure score on the list, but presumably because of Newman's distinctive style, most people got it)
    16. James Horner - Apollo 13 (1995)
    17. John Williams - Amistad (1997)
    18. John Williams - Seven Years in Tibet (1997)
    19. Ennio Morricone - What Dreams May Come (1998) (A little naughty of me to include a rejected score - my apologies - but I think it's a masterpiece. This is the second of the prime number clues.)
    20. Angelo Badalamenti - The Straight Story (1999)
    21. Ennio Morricone - Mission to Mars (2000)
    22. Jerry Goldsmith - Soarin' (2001) (An attraction at two Disney World theme parks. So nobody pays directly to see it - but given that it's four minutes long, and is shown continually for thirteen hours a day, 365 days a year on four different screens, I think my clue holds.)
    23. John Williams - Catch Me If You Can (2002)
    24. Christopher Young - The Core (2003)
    25. Marco Beltrami - 3:10 to Yuma (2007)

Thanks for playing. I hope you liked the clips and a few people discovered a few new scores to explore. I look forward to the next game!
