I can remember my first day of school which was when I was 5, I'm surprised you can't remember a launch? Especially if you were 10! I hope you have good short term memory.

As I said, I think it's explainable. It was while I was trekking in Nepal ( yeah, I know, another one of those Himalaya stories ), it was 1998 and I was at Tangboche Monastory situated at about 15,000 ft, it was night time and a super clear sky, no wind and very silent when I saw a large white blob shooting across the sky at a high speed, now at that altitude you can see planes very clearly and hear the sound of the engines so I knew it wasn't a plane, this large white blob just shot across the sky at a speed faster than any plane I've seen until it disappeared behind the mountains, my guess is that it was the MIR space station?
There ya go, not that exciting really. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Ah, OK. I was just wondering, because I believe MIR was taken out of orbit several years back. -

Tim, I'm sure that there must be a site somewhere that allows you to type in a date and you can track MIR and see if it's path fits with your location? But then that would ruin your story. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

I just returned from a week at our summer house in Denmark. This is a somewhat remote island with sporadic lighting, so the starlit sky was always crystal clear. One of these nights, I noticed two white "star"-like dots crossing each other on the sky and continuing in separate directions. I assume they were satelites in orbit (or that one of them was the ISS and the other a satelite), but I've never seen them with my own eyes before. Pretty cool!I am extremely serious. -

Yeah, you often see them if you look long enough. It's weird to look at, they appear to be stars gliding across the cosmos... yet they are mere satellites that allow our TomToms to work (and the like). -

How odd to be updating information I found out a few years ago. The mystery was completely solved by Mel's Dad who works for ESA in Germany, the times and date of that sighting in Nepal coincides perfectly with it being MIR.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -
