Has anyone been interested by Erik's Patreon initiative for Cinematic Sound Radio?

I have always assumed a Patreon thing is a way to generate regular funding for a project in return for a few 'perks'. As well as supporting the upkeep of the show, I assume that it gives the opportunity to expand what the show can offer. Which can only be a good thing. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Alas, I'm too busy to get traction towards my own site/podcast, so I can't "patron" others. But I wish him all the best!I am extremely serious. -

The Patreon was created because I've been receiving emails and DMs from listeners asking how they could support the show. I wasn't planning to set up a Patreon but since there was considerable organic interest from my audience begging for it, I went ahead and did it. I was quite sceptical as to how much interest there really was but so far the response has been great!
So, if this can pay for my webserver, my domain renewal, my SOCAN license, and sending some cash to my other hosts at the end of the year for all of their hard work... well, I'm not going to say no to that.
And you are right, Alan, if there is enough cash flowing in then I can do some updates to the show that will greatly benefit not only the show but the listener as well.
Thanks for opening this thread, Alan. Much appreciated!

Is this what allows you to play your music on air? Is it 'open-ended' in that it allows you to play anything? Or are there limitations or still restrictions? The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Yes, this allows me to play music on the program. Technically, this means I can only play music to Canadian audiences but from the research I've done, the small number of podcasts that have licenses in place (Coverville being one of the very first back in the mid-2000s) only have licenses provided to them in their home country YET they still offer the show to the world.
At least this is a step in the right direction to make sure my show is legit!
On top of that, I have the support from the various record labels, composers and PR agencies to play music on my program.
