Guys, I want to tell you that Hans Zimmer read the article and enjoyed it and generally agreed with a lot of my interpretations.

I´ve posted it in TTRL thread but your article deserves a double post.

I recently got Sherlock Holmes for Christmas, seeing all the reviews on iTunes made it sound so fantastic, but when I got it, to me it sounds just like Zimmer's Matchstick Men melded with Marco Beltrami's 310 To Yuma.
I guess I thought it'd be a little more exciting. I'm sure you've already discussed it at length here, but just thought I'd add my few cents. -

Scherlock Holmes shares similar qualities like Beltrami's 3:10 to Yuma? Quick, delete that before you hurt Marco's feelings!Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

I had somewhat scary but exciting feel every time I saw the Zimmer room... I didn't know why, but now I just realized what it is... his room reminds me of the room from MYST! It's an old game my brother used to play when I was a kid...

For those who have seen/heard The Lion King 2, does anyone else feel like some parts in Pirates of the Caribbean sound very similar?

Think of the context, this score (headlined by Nick Glennie-Smith) was written after Drop Zone's "Too Many Notes, Not Enough Rests..., which served as temp on the first POTC. Nick has also done additional music on DZ as well. So... does that help explain the similarity? -

To be fair, I did watch the movie because, one, I enjoyed everything about The Lion King (someone else on the forum might understand this ), and, two, I wanted to see whether it'd be good or not. Mind you that this was before Disney decided to make a sequel to every freaking animated movies that they've ever made. -

No, none of the sequels were ever good.
That said, The only sequels I enjoyed were those for the Lilo & Stich movie. Simply because we love those characters and the setting of Hawaii. -

No, my wife and I usually vacation there. And my baby girl hasn't been there yet, though she will be a couple year from now. I know she'd love it.
