    Kamen was Shearmur's mentor! I would have preferred a more traditional Kamen like approach but I'll keep an open mind with Zimmer and crew to see what they come up with.

    Shearmur was "discovered" by Michael Kamen via a strange quirk of coincidence (Kamen was an arranger for Pink Floyd, and Shearmur's aunt was the then-girlfriend of Pink Floyd's manager). During the 1980s and early 1990s, Shearmur worked as Kamen's assistant, initially keeping track of papers and manuscripts, before going on to play keyboards on Kamen's score for "License to Kill", and later helping to orchestrate the music for such films as "Die Hard", "Lethal Weapon", and "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen". He eventually co-composed his first score, "Let Him Have It" with Kamen in 1991, although his big break in terms of public awareness came six years later, with the release of "The Wings of the Dove" in 1997. - via MMUK

    Based on that I'd say that Shearmur knows Kamen's music and style more than anyone else.

    They mention Prince of Persia as one of Zimmer's upcoming projects. Wondering if there's any truth to it, he's been listed as 'theme music' composer for a while on IMDb, but I haven't been able to find another confirmation.

    Not only because every single movie out there HAS to be made 3D (we will have 3D romantic comedies soon) but the fact that this one wasn´t meant to be 3D in the first place. They are forcing it to be 3D. Cameron´s Avatar was a 3D film since minute one. The rest are just following the lead / trendy.

    Well I was exaggerating of course, what I mean is this technology has to be used wisely. I don´t see the need for every movie to be made in 3D just because it looks good in the movie poster. If we had a list of the 3D films that have been released lately, how many of them are REALLY enhanced by the 3D technology and how many are just an excuse to make the viewer pay more for the tickets?

    Well I don't know what 3D you've been watching, but the 3D at my theaters has been amazing. It isn't for popping out effects, so much as giving the film a visual sense of depth.

    Well, the trick is to do it in 6 months whilst you convince everyone those 6 months was actually...10 years! (same goes for the score, 2 months vs a whole year wink )

    I was watching the Olympic figure skating and noticed that Mirai Nagasu was skating to Pirates of the Caribbean music, but it was a variation that I have never heard before. Anybody know about it?
