That's awful. I reckon it'll be 30 minutes of score and 20 min of trashy remixes. Thank you so much, Disney. -

I am quite thrilled about the involvement of Eric Whitacre in the latest Pirates score, I must say. I am familiar with some of Whitacre's choral works, and I really look forward to hear what he can bring to a Zimmer score. He is very skilled in dealing with the choral sonorities.- What matters is the music - -

Clips!
I'm so happy to see the ethereal theme from POTC3 (the one in at witt's end) back! On mermaids!
too short score . But didn't expect more.

I don't like the idea of a major portion of the new Pirates CD being made up of "remixes". And the clips I have listened to so far sound very synthy/processed. Not very encouraged by this so far.The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

But 40 minutes isn't bad. Though it's prolly only 1/3 of score, and those 2/3 are still being worked on right now and will be lusted after, once I hear them.
I don't care for those RMXs either, but if that's the only way to get the score released on disc, then I'll take it. -

I love the latin touch in thoses clips. -

I love the latin touch in the classic He's a Pirate theme. Really good.
The remixes are vomit inducing. The reason behind these remixes is beyond my comprehension.Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you -

I like the remix IDEA. But I've yet to hear these new ones. I've enjoyed some previous work by Photek and Adam Freeland, though.I am extremely serious. -

Unless, for some strange reason, there is actually not very much (interesting) score in the film....I smell a special / "collectors" / expanded edition of this score. All bickering about the musical value of the Pirates scores aside, they know there is a market for this music, so to put so little of it on this release is rather odd. Prior to this, the albums had followed an upward trend towards being longer and better organized...this seems like a big step down.I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to! -

I thought the same, Scribe.
But now I think it's more trying to hide Zimmer weak effort. I mean if you can blame the realease, you will not notice how weak the score is. And I think if Zimmer composed too little music instead of his collaborators. -

We can't say for sure until we hear the score in the film, but I would really be surprised if Zimmer did put a lot of effort into this score. The film seems like a weak afterthought compared to the original trilogy, and for the longest time I didn't expect that Zimmer would work on this score at all...especially since he said he wants to focus on scores that feature smaller ensembles. I thought this would be given to someone like Henry Jackman. But I was wrong, so I could be wrong again, we'll seeI love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to! -

The clips sound pretty much in line with the previous PoTC scores, it's especially cool to hear to hear the He's A Pirate theme with Latin guitar flavouring. The action tracks incorporating this style like Palm Tree Escape could be cool as well. Oh, and there aren't enough remixes on the CD. Around fifty more would've been even cooler. Sarcasm aside, I do hope they come out with a "Deluxe Edition", remix-less soundtrack edition like TRON: Legacy had, 'cos it's pretty likely there are tons of cool cues left off here, like with the previous soundtracks. -

Nice cover, cool-looking tracklist (except for that tracklist). Perfect setting for another cool score. -

There were 1117 unread messages in this thread when I just clicked on it... anything worth reading?
Anyway... it seems that Hans Zimmer wants more world domination, because he's got a new agent.

I do believe that Amos Newman, his new agent, has a rather famous father - one who has scored a film or two in his time. -
