    THE LADY KILLERS ( 1955 )

Forget the Coen Brothers awful remake ( a rare missfire from them ) this is the classic original, it was showing on one of the cable channels today and I just couldn't miss up a chance to see it again, this black comedy with it's great cast including Alec Guinness, Peter Sellers and Herbert Lom are what truly classic films are all about, if you've never seen it then I urge you to rent it, buy it, download it.

The score, by Tristram Cary is delightful too.

    10/10

    EDIT : sorry, wrong thread.

  5. Herbert Lom? Sellers' crazy boss from the Pink Panther series?

Indeed! And a few years before the Pink Panther films started ( 8 years to be precise ). Watch it Pawel, it really is a superb film.

p.s. Peter Sellers is so chubby in this film, he became obsessed with keeping fit in later years.

  7. "Sleeping Pill" is one of the few, though it honestly reminds me of Raiders of the Ark' love theme.

That cue a a direct lift of one cue from Goldsmith's "Capricorn One".

are you sure? I knew I remembered it from somewhere and I thought it came from that one. If you're sure, I'll change it.

    Thanks Justin

  10. I've just uploaded a topical review here: John Carpenter's Halloween III: Season of The Witch:

I was going to say "enjoy" but I am sure no-one particularly likes the film or the music! wink

I see that someone voted 5-stars to my original 3-stars for this score (or review!) Who was it?!

Can people who have not registered with the site vote (i.e., "Joe Public")? Because if they can then I may have a theory who it was who voted 5-stars for the score. The coincidence may be too much...

Just tested it, and yup: you don't need to be registered or logged in to vote: it's a free-for-all!

    Cheers, Martijn.

I was wondering if Alan Howarth himself had visited the site and voted 5-stars for the review. He had thanked me on Facebook for the review at around the same time (and had done a bit of advertising at the same time!).
