I would like to take an opportunity to praise JOSHUA, Nico Muhly's score from 2007, released by Mikael earlier this year. I think if more films showed this kind of touch, it would be thought of more often as an 'art' than a 'craft'. I'm really looking forward to THE READER's score now, whether it's Iglesias that does it, or Muhly.A butterfly thinks therefore I am -

It is indeed a very interesting score. Not very original, but very interesting indeed. Looking forward to his outcome in the near future.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

I meant only in the sense of composer style. It never quotes JOSHUA.A butterfly thinks therefore I am -

Too early by far to say. The similarities are sort of equivalent to saying that there are similarities between Desplat's THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON and BIRTH or ET APRES (AFTERWARDS). It's true in some ways, but it's more an observation than the be-all-and-end-all of how you'd describe those scores.A butterfly thinks therefore I am -

He'll also find his own way. In fact he already has.

Amazing to think he's so young. He makes an appearance (working on the Glass score for CASSANDRA'S DREAM) in that Philip Glass documentary that was released last year.A butterfly thinks therefore I am -

I think it's actually him playing 1 and a half pieces, with the trailer of the film appearing instead of the rest if it's the clip I've seen.

I'm not sure if Jon saw the film or not but if he did the phrase "free-spirit" certainly doesn't apply to Hannah in anyway. She is quite structured, a typical German stereotype is presented. I would strongly urge all to see the film and you'll likely appreciate the music more.

Nico Muhly: Margaret
Following the acclaimed scores for Stephen Daldry's The Reader and horror movie Joshua, young composer Nico Muhly has been hired to compose the original music for Margaret, a drama written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan, the screenwriter behind Analayze This and Gangs of New York.

i think Muchly's scores for his age is unbelievable , as for the score in The Reader the music themes were very nice but i had the feeling that he didnt not overcome himself . He has a lot to give to the movie industry via his music and i can't wait for it -

Muhly's album MOTHERTONGUE is a fascinating album. If you don't like vocal-centred works, stay away from it, but it finds novel ways to use the human voice (as well as made-up and electronically-generated timbres).A butterfly thinks therefore I am -
