I think that James Horner is scoring the sequel to The Hunger Games. Here is the tracklisting of the CD:

1: "I give you strength so that you can catch fire"
2: The bird, the mountain, the distant horizon...
3: A lifetime of promises, a lifetime of memories
4: Peter steps forward to recognise his dreams untold
5: The sadness of a stranger - the suffocation of a friend
6: "A love for the future is a love of forever"
7: Striding towards the temple of the past
    8: A menacing portent
9: ...so it may favour the young
10: My life, your creation, his wonder

I think some one in the sequel to The Hunger Games will be catching fire. And I'm pretty sure James Newton Howard will be scoring the film. Can anyone confirm that?

Nah... this is one of the best threads ever at MT and I'm glad to see most of us contributing to the hilarity. With that being said, Southall's track listings are the stroke of genius!

BTW, who's scoring the Hunger Games sequel?

There is another title coming up on JNH's calendar that hasn't been mentioned, but which he told me. I'm hoping no one else will mention it for a few days, so I can have a little piece of breaking news, at the very least. smile

Mystery title posted at FilmMusicReporter.com now.

Yeah, virtually all of JNH's scores for Shyamalan are top-notch. I'm expecting this one to be too.

Exactly, looking at the trailer it seems a good opportunity for an adventure/fantasy/dramatic score.

I was never that keen on JNH's Shyamalan scores, but my door is always open. Regardless of AFTER EARTH's quality, I'm hoping it allows for a great 'musical palette'.

There are some good elements & themes here and there, but for the most part it's too much 'sneaking-around' stuff for my taste.

In the films, however, they are brilliant.
