  1. We had a bit of a busy day today. We've started getting a bit more out-and-about and today we were all off to Llandudno - just along the coast from where we stay - for a bit of a walk (the children both got some hiking boots the other day and this was their second time out wearing them).

We only had the morning so we parked at the summit of the Great Orme - http://www.greatorme.org.uk/greatorme.html / http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Orme - and spent a couple of hours doing one of the walks around the summit. It was warm with a lot of hazy sunshine (so we didn't see as much as some of the photos on the referenced sites show).

David had a birthday party to go to back in Rhyl (not a very nice seaside town) so it was off to drop him off after lunch. Rachel was also invited so Anne and I had a chance to walk along the prom before heading back to collect the children. Then we went back down to the beach and the children had a chance for a paddle and - to their great delight - a donkey ride along the beach. Then it was back home.

    What a miserable wet day.

So, I'm staying in cooking a beef joint and listening to good music ( currently Yared's TROY ). smile

We've been waiting for the rain to arrive so that some plants that were planted this morning would be watered in...but it hasn't arrived yet. rolleyes

Out with the watering can then Alan? wink

The rain was torrential here on Friday, not something you see often, at least in this neck of the woods.

  3. And it looks like you may get more rain tomorrow as well!

BTW, the rain finally arrived here - so no need for the watering can. Phew!

Kinda interesting Sunday today. In the match between two of our best football teams - Vålerenga and Bodø/Glimt - on our national Ullevål Stadium, I got to play a "charity" 7-minute match in the break, in front of 15.000 spectators.

(for those who are curious about why I did this and in what connection, see this FSM thread:

Spent an hour and half sunbathing in a park here in Oslo (I'm still pale as a pile of cocaine), will cook some dinner now and see INDY IV with a buddy of mine tonight. Pretty standard Sunday, in other words.

We were all up early this morning and went to Snowdonia to do some walking. We headed off to the "Devil's Kitchen" area of Snowdonia but as I had some new walking boots to break in we didn't do anything too strenuous (my fitness levels are not good enough to attempt the "Kitchen" itself.

We took a leisurely walk around a lake - Llyn Idwal - and the day passed very nicely. And not too many blisters!!

    Some quick photos:

  5. I was alone at home, so I decided for a trip to Zul' Farrak with a friend; killed some mobs, earned some gold, got killed two times in a row only.

After my return from the world of warcraft, I watched some titans clash in a fight for the w.... ah, no, just a cup. We won. smile

3+ hours of cycling has seriously done my legs in, after not doing any physical excercise for so long plus having knee joint problems I feel half crippled!

I'm going to start lifting weights again this week....I might as well feel half crippled all over!? wink

    I hate my country.

I know you're probably kidding, but I don't think you should be ashamed of your country. I've been to the Netherlands a couple of times, for example a channel holiday with my family (and two other families) in, I think, 1992. It was great. Loved cruisin' on the houseboat and visiting all those gorgeous, "intimate" Dutch cities along the way.
