Terminator 4 - who will score ?
-
- CommentTimeApr 21st 2008
Just came to my mind that since McG is directing T4, and he has worked with Edward Shearmur twice on Charlie's Angels series, maybe Shearmur will be able to score this ! And IMO that's gonna be awesome !
What do you guys think? -

McG! The only director named after a cricket ground.
Would rather have Beltrami back myself, but Shearmur would be good. In any case, I daresay the film will be shit if he's directing it, and probably full of pop songs. -

If they set it purely in the future with mega-battles with thousands of Endo-skeletons I might just watch it?
Oh yeah, Beltrami to score! On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

If Shearmur does this, it will surely be one of the greatest score of the last decade. I am completely serious.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Brad?
I agree with you Martijn, Brad's music may not make for a great CD listen but it fitted like a glove in those first two films. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Martijn wroteI think Brad´s return would certainly help getting the atmosphere back. I still listen to his T-scores regularly and am still quite happy with them. If you listen to the huge step forward he made between parts 1 and 2, Brad might come up with a spectacular something for the new one. He nailed the future war atmosphere perfectly, and a score by him would certainly capture that feeling again.

Totally agree, Ralph.
If they're going to reboot the series without Arnold, why not go for that cold, apocalyptic sound again to refind that sense of dread? Would work for me!'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

Totally agree, there was never any need to replace him. His sound is so much a part of those films, it's as organically ( mechanically? ) intrinsic as Goldsmith's Alien, Silvestri's Predator and Williams Jaws.
Though I have to say that as a listening experience I'll reach for Beltrami's T3 every time over Brad's.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -
