GEORGE SHAW concert, JUNE the 6th, 2009 - California Institute for Chinese Performing Arts
[author: George Shaw, composer]
I've been working hard to put on a concert that will feature some of my
music, including several themes from my film scores, and doing some
improvisations. But seeing it all come together is such a thrill. Come
check it out next Saturday, I'll be conducting as well as playing
piano, percussion, and some Chinese woodwind instruments. It will be a
unique and memorable night unlike any concert I've ever been to.
Come experience a journey to the Eastern Horizon, an evening of musical
explorations and discoveries. With contemporary pieces written by
award-winning composers George Shaw and Paul Kwo, the ensemble will
lead you to an enchanting horizon where the East meets the West. Fusing
the best of both worlds with instruments and sounds (featuring erhu,
Chinese winds & percussion, flute, violin, cello, and piano), the
performance will help you discover the beauty of cultural exchange
through music.
Date: Saturday, June 6, 8PM
Location: California Institute for Chinese Performing Arts
Address: 9837 Baldwin Place, El Monte, CA 91731

At last!
I've just uploaded my review to this composer's recent score for Agents of Secret Stuff.
I found this one really tricky - after thinking it would be easy.
I hope people like it.The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

I listen to Agents of Secret Stuff twice and just couldn't get into it thus no review. I would rather not review and give it a bad listen. Some music I just don't understand.
Tomlisten to more classical music! -

George gave me a positive response to my review of Agents of Secret Stuff. He is spreading a link to the review on Facebook so hopefully we will get a bit more traffic. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Video on him scoring a short film; it's actually fun to watch and he's seems like a funny guy.
