Can someone please explain to me why cues are originally named "1m1", "1m2_2m0", "6m5b" etc.? (I know why, but what do these numbers and letters actually mean?)

I'm betting if anyone knows, it'll be Dan Goldwasser.
  3. I am sure of the description, not sure how it really works.

I don't think if you can see a reel as a CD. Probably a side of a tape, rather.

  4. I think that each of the cues that feature in each reel of film are assigned this convention of labelling.

Cue 2m4 would be the 4th music cue on the 2nd reel of film. 2m4A may be a modified version of the original 2m4 cue.

1m1 is usually the title music: 1st music cue from the first reel of film.

  5. Anthony, in Bond movies there are teasers, so the main titles AREN'T the 1m1.
