That's my point! It doesn't change reality. It just doesn't need a sappy piece of music... if anything, it takes away the reality of these pictures. Show them without music, and they'll speak for themselves. (Perhaps a low-lying atmospheric track at the very least, but not a fully blown melancholic piece.)

On an intellectual level I agree with you. But on an emotional level, I can't deny that music used in this way has a great effect on me. I can call it tacky and recognize it as emotional manipulation all I want, and I would be right, but it doesn't change the power music has over me.

Anyone can recognize what this music is? Is it from a soundtrack?

(Beautiful animation there by the way)

I don't know what it is but it sounds like the countless waltzy-uplifting-tunes-with-quirky-instrumentation rips of Yann Tiersen. You can always listen to Yann Tiersen instead wink

    I am sorry i can't help more.

Which Tiersen score is similar to that clip? I'm interested!
(I've only heard some tracks of his Amelie score)

His whole work, especially those pre-2000 albums:

    # La Valse des Monstres (1995)
    # Rue des Cascades (1996)
    # Le Phare (1998)
    # Tout est Calme (1999)

from which the AMELIE score is made up, along with a couple of original material for that film.

You'll also love his piano-driven, melancholy for GOODBYE LENIN! , the movie. He has surely created a very influential sound which everyone who wants to sound "indy and artsy", "dreamy", "innocent and gentle" or simply "European" seems to be copying these days.

Does anyone know the track playing in the background of this clip? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GFr_GSjYPI

Fun little piece, similar in style to the Incredibles score.

  2. It's most certainly computer made, at least I think. And it's got a terrible rip* of the "Hawaii 5-0" theme in the middle.

Can anyone recognize the piece that starts 1:59 into this vid? It sounds like a cross between Morricone and Barry. I'm sure it's not by either of those guys though.

nice piece, but no can't help you any further.
Why not put a message under the clip, perhaps anyone who sees the clip will know it?
    waaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Where's my nut? arrrghhhhhhh
  6. Can anybody help identify this music? I can't tell you if it's film or stock music. It's underneath an old news report. I raised the volume on it overall, then some parts, so it would be easier to hear:
