I'm underwhelmed by his Crysis, to be honest. For such an epic game, the score is just too "small".

Agree with both. The score only shines a couple of times during the game; too bad, because the main theme, if played by a real orchestra, could have been pretty memorable in the game´s cliffhangers.

EXACTLY. With a game like Crysis, you want a score that's like The Lost World or something equally as epic. Not a ton of electric drum beats and synthesized brass. rolleyes vomit

I haven't come across anything similar in style to be honest. Those scores I heard from Zur were mostly heroic and stuff. But then in my opinions this style of music fits Warhammer games too so those two expansion packs he scored may have this post-apocalyptic devastation sound to them.

Yeah, even if the electric drum beats and sythesized brass worked (IMO) in the (annoying btw) mothership level, it definitely didn´t in the tons of action levels of the game. I can´t imagine the harbour level or the mine level, among others, with a big, bold, brassy score like Lair or the Medal of Honor saga.
I don´t have hopes this is going to change in the second part, but we´ll see it very soon.

BioWare apparently announced that Inon Zur has composed the music for their forthcoming video game title Dragon Age: Origins. The score is recorded by the Northwest Sinfonia Orchestra and it is being described as "the perfect complement to the game's epic, cinematic qualities, full of soaring melodies and lush, emotional orchestrations". Sounds good.

The official soundtrack will be available to download online from popular digital music stores when the game ships on November 3, 2009, while selected tracks from the soundtrack will be included in the Collector's Edition. Whether these two will different from one another or not is not known at the moment.

It would have made more sense if it was, but it is the composer's actual name.
  3. Inon Zur's score for the game Dragon Age: Origins is getting a download release on 7th December (in the UK at least):

Sounds interesting. I've not seen any reference to a CD release though.

    That's so unfashionable.
With a name like Inon Zur, you should at the very least be Intergalactic Emperor.
