  3. I'll take a break at work and go outside to check it out. Im not in the direct path of the total solar eclipse, but in northern Utah we're still in a pretty good place to see it.

    Watching these, I've taken away some safety tips:

    1. Don't slam on the breaks -- you'll loose control if you are at a high speed. It won't help.

    2. If you see a bad driver weaving around or an impending accident, break immediately -- don't wait to see how it plays out and if you can just keep going without losing speed.

    3. If there is a place at all where you can pull off safely, do it quickly.

    I think the REAL safety tip is "don't drive a car in Russia".
    Or even "Don't be in the vicinity of cars in Russia."

    if you go to liveleak.com and search for fatal crashes, all you find out is Russia, china and generally Asian countries. not friends with cars there, at all. Also in china they are at war with lifts and escalators.

  15. This has probably to do with the legal status of dashcams in national law. In Germany the situation is currently unclear. Court rulings are contradictory and the lesgilator's decision is pending.

  16. I can't speak for elsewhere, but in Russian motorists have a problem with people purposefully stepping out of falling into the paths of cars so they can sue the driver, so for years now Russians routinely put cameras to record what happens so they don't get sued.

    Also, after watching a lot of these videos, some Russians hit and run, so it's handy to have a camera to get that plate number.

    I think this should be required viewing for all people getting a driver's license. They have to sit down and watch an hour of scary and horrific car crashes. That'll teach these teenage speed-demon little shits.
