Good luck
Clues:
1. A classic spaghetti western.
2. This one is from the 21st century.
3. Not about a yellow house.
4. Chilling spaghetti western
5. A TV movie from the early 80s.
6. A Western comedy where a very popular italian director worked on uncredited.
7. This score was released almost 20 years ago on a limited edition that is long out of print.
8. The longest movie title ever?
9. If you ever find yourself buried alive, remember to play this score and you'll escape with ease.
10. Bossa Nova by Morricone
11. Not to be confused with a 1970's movie.
12. A 1990's score in the vein of The Mission
13. This movie has Peter's favourite Morricone theme.
14. Also featured on the Morricone compilation with Yo-Yo Ma
15. TV movie from the 1990's based on a.popular novel
16. An Academy Award Nomination for this one!
17. No clues, the title of the movie can be heard by the chorus ( but not in this clip)
18. A relatively new Morricone score.
19. Adaption of a famous novel already turned into a movie by another well-known director.
20. Hans Zimmer has probably listen to this score before he wrote one of his most popular scores. -

I wonder who will win this one.
That said, the other game has not ended yet, so perhaps we should wait a bit before we devote too much time to this one.

Cool! But let's wait till the other GTS game by zirael has ended.
Back in SST I could be the leading Morricone fan, but out here I'm dwarfed by the knowledge of Peter and Southall. I'll agree with Timmer's prediction -

Great. The only Morricone music I know: Yo-yo Ma compilation, Cinema Paradiso, Mission to Mars, Fateless. He is one of the most underrepresented composers in my collection. -

I won't win this - I recognise most of them, but trying to think what they actually are is hard!
Number 11 though - this clip once provided me with my most spine-tingling film music experience of all time. Sitting in Parma, Italy - listening to the Maestro conduct a hundred-piece orchestra and 200-piece choir - and he opened the concert with this piece, and pretty much this moment that's heard in the clip sent shivers down my spine. Sheer bliss. I was, for three hours, in total ecstasy. -

I think people are mostly waiting for the other game to end. It's like an unwritten rule here; only one game at the time.

I gave it a try but this is too hard for me!
I recognize one clip but I have no idea what it was again. -

Y'know... I listen to some of these clips and I can not only recognise them, I can hum the rest of the track (after the clip stops) and usually the track after that and indeed the rest of the album. But still can't identify it!
Will there be any clues?
(And well done Peter!) -

Some clues added to the first post (not very easy when you don't have seen most of these films!). -
- CommentTimeSep 20th 2008
Sent my guesses in. Will check the hints later for the ones I'm missing.
Awesome job, Peter! Any less, and we'd all be disappointed -

4. Chilling spaghetti western
9. If you ever find yourself buried alive, remember to play this score and you'll escape with ease.

I'll have to pass on this one, I guess
Morricone is a composer I more appreciate than listen to. I love his masterpieces, but I need to be in the mood for him.http://www.filmmusic.pl - Polish Film Music Review Website -

Thanks for doing this set of clips. Although I have ~50 scores by Morricone this number is dwarfed by the ~600 scores he has reportedly scored over the years.
Does anyone know roughly how many of these 600 scores have been released? The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Thanks Anti!
But if two people got 20 out of 20... how come only one person guessed Ad Ogni Costo?
I have all those scores apart from 4 and 6 and yet I would only have got about 10-12 points. I need to listen to my Morricone collection a bit more! -
- CommentTimeSep 24th 2008 edited
Nice set of clips, Anti! It shows how much of a Morricone fan you are too!
That must be a typo, James.
The ones that stumped me initially were #6 and #20. I would not have got them without the hints.
Who's doing the next GTS game? Anyone have clips ready? -
- CommentTimeSep 24th 2008
Antineutrino, thanks for setting up an entertaining game! I bow to the Morricone fans! After awhile it all started to run together and I couldn't identify any more. lol.
