- Comment I'm not a big fan of the Hobbit scores but I'm more of the belief that the movies conquered Shore as opposed to the inspiration not being there. The highlights are still very strong.

- Comment The Great Wall - Ramin Djawadi It's not terrible. I could make a decent fifteen minute playlist out of this score. But an hour of it? Djawadi's music just doesn't have the depth needed to sustain that length. I suppose I'm also about a decade too late to bitch about the woodwinds being ...

- Comment Two Concerti - Howard Shore I've only heard the piano concerto so far but I'm not finding the thematic material very striking, surprising from this composer. It's stylistically difficult to pin down, at times Romantic, other times Neo-Baroque. I'll need to give it more listens.

- Comment
So...after listening to it for a little while, it does't seem like there's much going on with this score. I enjoy the new Star Trek theme, but haven't invested in any of the film scores yet. Is there a favorite around here? Is Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness or Star Trek Beyond the ...

- Comment Bacon is only officially credited for the final two episodes. With the exception of Ep 3 (done by someone I don't recognize), JNH did the rest. Or at least, that's how it's credited. In practice, who knows? Either way, the music isn't terribly noticeable in the show thanks to a very low mix.
