A.B.I.

" Overall, one half of the score includes decent, semi-generic to connecting much deeper music - dramatically, emotionally, and in compositional intent - while the other half is of a very moderate appeal. "Written by Joep de Bruijn - Review of the download only release
A.B.I. (2026) is a Turkish television series. As with many series, there is a protagonist going through life under a false identity, gradually seeing his old secrets exposed. From my experience, the vast majority of mediocre, entertaining television series at present -most of which remain extremely extended versions of films in the same vein- fail to impress. A.B.I. is no exception to the rule; it took just a single episode for me to decide not to continue watching the series. Regarding Turkish television series and films, it is particularly in a few symbioses that they remain memorable, especially with filmmakers such as Nuri Bilge Ceylan and their music, which are of unabridged quality compared to an average Turkish production.
The original score was composed by Çaglar Haznedaroglu and Sertaç Özgümüs, marking a series of collaborative efforts. It is their use of various instruments, including the keman (kemenchhe), cello, guitar, a female vocal, bağlama (saz), clarinet, the Encore Recording Orchestra, and
electronics - that makes the overall music of an appeal, but there is a default.
The score comprises generic writing in a variety of cues, sometimes with, sometimes without the use of instruments and heartfelt melody. The generic writing ranges from Çırak, a cue of Kawai-an appeal - to Cinayet, which features local instruments, but has too a comfortable electronic pulse and some appeal to live instruments, such as the solo cello. Given the 90-minute digital release, and even some appeal in generic writing, the (semi) wholeheartedly 'emotional' content is both a bit predictable to entirely sound; İç Dünya uses piano, guitar, a female vocal, and is very touching, or the unforgettable feel expressed through the solo woodwind in Çiçek Pasaj.
Overall, one half of the score includes decent, semi-generic to connecting much deeper music - dramatically, emotionally, and in compositional intent - while the other half is of a very moderate appeal.
