I get advance material sometime and I think this is as it came from the mastering company. Is it available?

Desplat's Largo Winch is available from Varese on the 16th December: http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/cata … ieid=84733

I appreciated your "Discover Film Music" review, Tom. The problem for me is that although the selections themselves are of pure class, some of the performances on that album that I've heard before are either mediocre or in fact quite bad. No doubt this is a question of money and ownership of copyrights. Especially the recording of Rozsa's "Spellbound" concerto is quite lousy in my opinion.

I agree Mark with your assessment. Rights are a key as far as Naxos is concerned. They own the rights to all of their recordings which means they can use them whenever they choose. Plus this is a release for the newcomer or very occasional listener/reader. Given the low cost for a book and 2 CD's it is still something for most to have.

Cinema Symphony is easily my favorite album of 2008. You can hear two complete movements from the symphony on THIS JUST IN SHOW #6 at http://www.geocities.com/cinematicsound

    Enjoy!
