    There are growing rumors around about mass suicides (10 people or so are the first info) in this factory where they manufacture iphone 4, ipod and ipad.

    I read that the amount of money families receive from the company after a suicide, is lowered, and indeed replaced by a (small) pay raise. A lot of these people also killed themselves to give their relatives some extra money. Can you believe that? slant

    I think the company is called Foxcon or so, and produces a large amount of the electronics.

    The company is Taiwanese if memory serves me well, but the factory is in China proper.

    It's not prettier than 3GS. And does it really do that much more to deserve all that ridiculously high amount of money? Or do you want it just because it's perhaps the coolest, most talked, most overpriced, ultimate gadget at the time? (it's ok if you do, 3/4 of the world seems to as well smile )

    Um, well, I certainly don't want it because it's overpriced. uhm (Nor do I want one because everyone else wants one - in fact, that's a turn off for me.) I just want it because it's the best smartphone on the market, regardless of price. (And personally I think it is prettier than the 3GS, especially in the flesh so to speak. But that's subjective. But it IS better than a 3GS, no doubt about it.)

    Is it indeed the best smartphone in the market? I haven't searched the subject so much but for instance, many other manufacturers have 8mgpx cameras whilst iphone has 5, others like HTC expensive phones run a hell load of applications which you can also access via other, 'free' means in the net, are equally robust and perhaps slightly faster. iphone certainly IS the most popular but i am not too sure it's actually the best. But regardless, the price is ridiculous.

    As for being prettier than the 3gs, i think it might be but it certainly lost its uniqueness. The old iphone was recognizable from a mile away and it set a standard that many others copied (talking about aesthetics and visuals). The new one looks exactly like the bunch of expensive phones from HTC, Motorola etc.

    At the very least, it's certainly a contender for the best smartphone. Though I think most reviewers tend to agree the iPhone 4 is the best (again, regardless of price). Plus I prefer Apple products, so it's a no-brainer for me.

    It's not technically half price. If I buy through a business (my Dad's in this case), he saves on the VAT/tax at the end of the fiscal year. Basically, what he's paid on tax/VAT on the phone -which can be written down as a business purchase since it is a product that can be related to his work- he doesn't have to pay at the end of the year; i.e. that amount (around £240) is taken off the total amount of tax he has to pay. So in the end, it costs about half the price, even though when first bought it costs the full price. But my Dad lets me pay without the tax/VAT added, which is nice. cool

    Sweet. How much is the full price of the iphone4 currently in the UK? Some stores here have it at 1200 euro, the 32gb version! Which is pretty laughable imo.

  30. I'm looking for some AntiVirus software for my phone. Firstly, is this a prudent move? And secondly, does anyone have a recommendation?
