  1. There is someone in the video who is wearing glasses. I assumed that the camera was linked into the system in order to see the 3D image.

Isn't that holograms or whatever they call those? Aren't they supposed to work without glasses?

To me, this is more impressive:

Holographic TV - available in any colour as long as it is green.

Although it may not be real reading the caption...

I don't know if this has been posted before but here it is anyway.

A bunch of people was asked to record a video of them self playing something in B flat. All the videos are on this page. Just randomly press play on them and you get a nice ambient piece of music. smile

  3. Suggested I posted this here, so:

OVer many years I've seen people say they don't know what the name of an instrument is/can't tell what's what, and I used to be that way too on most things, but I decided to put together a video for folks.

Most of your regular American orchestra, and some atypical instruments as well, and some foreign included.

Each is typically from beginning to end of playing range, some I skip around from C, G, C, G & up, and some I simply play famous movie themes.

Anyway, here are the instruments included (in this order):

    Bassoon
    Contrabassoon
    Celesta
    Cello *
    Clarinet
    Cor Anglais
    Dulcimer
    Erhu *
    Flute *
    French horn * / *
    Glockenspeil *
    Harp *
    Kalimba
    Pan pipes +
    Sitar *
    Shakuhachi
    Saxophone (tenor; soft) *
    Trombone *
    Trumpet *
    Toms
    Timpani
    Oboe *
    Viola
Violins * (also, at the end, beginning to end up the range)
    Xylaphone (grand)
    Xylaphone (steel)
    Xylaphone (wooden)
    Congas
    Bongos
    Piccolo
Tuba (fairly certain I'm playing out of it's range)

    * = can you identify the movie/or TV themes?
+ = Not score, but an instrumental piece that typically ends a well known, long-running radio program.

    And the video:

  4. Notes on some of the instruments:

    Tuba: E flat.

Clarinet: bass (I have a regular one, too, but I just prefer the bass version)

Erhu: fake. As bad as it sounds, I should note this was the best free one I could find, and was the third one I had gotten.

Sampled from a real played nstrument: cor, tuba, basoon -- off the top of my head.

I just love this short (directed by a fellow Norwegian) displaying a "drunken" baby that trashes a bar:

If you use umbrellas for sun shade, I guess there's a purpose to it. But here in Norway, umbrellas are almost always used for rain, in which case it's totally pointless.

I would also wonder how long it will last. In my experience, umbrellas quickly break up.

They're also very useful for intense sunshine but being from Norway you wouldn't know anything about that. wink
