  2. A friend of mine went to Tuesday night's premiere at the Sydney Opera House. He said he found the film pretty good 'for what it was'. I asked him about the music, and his remark was that the music for the Enterprise was very bold - it reminded him of Godzilla. 'Cut from a very similar cloth to the music from CLOVERFIELD'. Comparisons to Goldsmith: 'Lacks the elegance... it's a bit restrained on the dramatic side.' 'Helps the film without standing out too much.'

    If there's one and only person out of the new ones who can do it, then that person is Giacchino.

    Oh yeah that would be cool! I always thought that Basil Poledouris was the biggest missed opportunity for scoring a Trek film, and now we'll never know. sad Christopher Young ( still a possibility? ) would be fantastic too.

    In the meantime I look forward to Giacchino's effort. smile

    AICN is a joke. The entire site is full of plants, and Harry Knowles is a sell-out.

    People should really follow more legitimate film news sites, like /film, comingsoon.net, and superherohype.com.

    Anyways back on topic, I do eagerly await Giacchino's score, and the movie looks kick-ass to boot, and this coming from someone who's never been a Star Trek fan.

    And that is a very bad thing in this instance. Still at least the alternate cover art is *slightly* better. I wonder if it was changed at the last minute due to all the vomit

    I'm thinking more about the album presentation. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to hearing Goldsmith's theme within the film.

    Very cool, though I'll admit I'm not too thrilled with the fact that the main Star Trek theme is apparently only featured at the very end... rolleyes

  29. I would have loved to see "to boldly go" longer, I think this was a moment where he go build on the momentum of his or the star trek theme

    anyway, looks cool

    my first reaction of the cover was oh my god shocked
    but I'm beginning to like it smile

    The first cover was terrible, this one is much better but not stellar. It works on that less-is-more approach.
