I invite all you Main Titles fans over to FilmScoreClickTrack.com to vote for your favorite film scores of 2009. I usually don't trumpet my blog posts, but in the interest of getting as many film score fans voting as possible, I hope you guys don't mind. I promise I won't do it often. smile

Come on over and rock the vote, though preferably withOUT rock music.

Shouldn't we wait until the year is over to start voting? Avatar has yet to be released.

Yeah, why are scores like Avatar and Sherlock Holmes on the list, when they haven't been released yet? (that didn't stop me for voting on Avatar though smile)

The fact that I haven't heard Avatar yet is a pretty big factor in my decision not to vote for it!

I haven't voted for it, nor Sherlock Holmes. Frankly speaking, no matter how enjoyable, i don't think any of those 2 will make it to my lists anyway smile

I'm sure you can trumpet more than you currently do. People will tell you, using the art of sarcasm, if it gets out of hand.

Anyway, I did't like voting as there are way too many I'm not familiar with on that list, but I did it anyway. tongue Voted for "Baaria" and "Mao's last dancer".

No, I think most people have made their mind up whether or not they will like it before it's released. wink

Usually you get to choose from a rather uninteresting list. But in this case, you can list any score wou want, which is good.

I see you're listing TV scores too but then you're missing the best TV score of the year-- Puccini by Marco Frisina

I appreciate everyone who's voted so far. Thanks smile I thought about waiting because of some unreleased titles. But most of them will have released by the 21st (except for Sherlock Holmes and a couple of others). Not that I'm advocating it, but most people find a way to get ahold of releases early anyway. If I get enough flack, I may extend it a few days. Then again, you could pretend like you're in the Academy and vote for it whether or not you've seen/heard it. LOL

@BhelPuri I'm not familiar with Puccini (the TV show, not the actual composer). If you didn't already, go back and add it in the section after the list. This is one of many titles I'm sure I missed between TV and international films. Hence why I put the section to add stuff. It's called CYA. smile

  2. cool list, but I absolutely can not believe that for instance The Red Canvas can be found after a score like Knowing, it goes to show that not all people heard The Red Canvas, while more heard Knowing

    still cool list cool

Interesting how those brilliant works aren't on the list:

    BAARIA
    AGORA
    A SINGLE MAN
    DIE PÄPSTIN (POE JOAN)
    MAO'S LAST DANCER
    EFFI BRIEST

Goes to indicate something on the geographical region of most people's interests in film music, it seems?

Glad to see AMELIA in there too, for it is brilliantly beautiful.

Exactly, I've only heard of Agora, but I couldn't tell you the composers of any of the above. So it's not that surprising. wink
  3. I absolutely love the score to Knowing and am quite happy to follow it. (Thanks Thomas for your praise, BTW). Actually totally blown away to have made any list but especially this reader's list means a lot to me. I have amazing company on that list. Several of my heroes. Big thanks to those who voted for my score. I feel really honored and it was a great New Year's present. I hope 2010 brings me the opportunity to bring you guys more music! : )

Take care everyone and have a great 2010! beer

    All best,
