Putting all clues together...
it's from a video game for which Michael Ironside lent his voice. It shouldn't take too long to find the video games from IMDB and look at the composers. Maybe it's something like Command & Conquer. I don't know.
It's NOT Call of Duty? Fuck me, I thought that was such a good answer.

Correct! Or that's about as close as we're going to get I think!
That was the spectacular main theme from Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow written by none other than Lalo Schifrin. (Maybe I'm mistaken, but I think sounds unequivocally like Schifrin in Mission Impossible mode!) The rest of the score was composed by Jack Wall and while all synthesized makes great use of the theme and is my favourite score from the series. Here's an interview with Schifrin, even playing the MI theme! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gALhb7qg8B4
Ironside rang a bell. That said, I haven't played the game, really. Maybe one or two missions somewhere. When it comes to the Clancy stuff I am a Rainbow Six geek. I also love the novel. To be honest, it's a dream film project for me and one that will never happen possibly, since John Woo (as a producer only) is developing it for a few years.

It should have been something that people had a chance of knowing. Without clues it was far too obscure.

    Lalo? That's a nice surprise.

I agree although it's nice to see a Lalo clip.

I'd have thought it would have been more well known, or at least not the clip itself but that it was a Schifrin cue. I knew we were in trouble when that wasn't immediately sussed out, so I guess I don't know what Schifrin normally sounds like!

Sounded like a nice piece of music to me. I'd never heard it (or heard of it) before. Can you buy it somewhere? (Only that piece, not particularly interested in the rest of the score.)

Lalo Schifrin was writing music like that a long time before John Williams was, you know.

It was a good piece Ant but no, it isn't indicative of Schifrin's sound.

Nor me. It sounds more like John Barry. I can hear hints of Schifrin, but it's a bit more expansive than his usual style.

  3. Sorry, I totally don't have time, you can post another one, or whoever, for that matter. Hectic days!

In contrast to my previous clip from Oui, Mais... this one is not very pleasant to listen to but a nice orchestral workout nevertheless.
