I too was relatively late into getting to know his beautiful music and gift for melody, it wsas 2005 with Merry Christmas via our Tintin (Martin). But it has been a great surprise and discover after another great one every time since, he's truly a man that you're simply happy you've had the luck to discover, even late. I am glad you're enjoying his music so much.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

Of course! It is the lovely
Oui, Mais...
by
Philippe Rombi
indeed! beer
Check out the Ouverture (track 2) or Theme de Charles (track 5) from Un Homme Et Son Chien and you can find the Oui Mais theme in it.
Oui, Mas has become a MUST HAVE for me! love

The same should be for "une hirondelle....", "5x2", 'ricky', "une homme en son chien" (if i recall the title correctly, it's "a man and his dog" in english), if you don't already have them...along with Merry Christmas, Angel...damn the man has composed some truly wonderful music.

Considering I've had the CD for Une Hirondelle A Fait Le Printemps ( which I love ) for nearly 9 years now it's sure taken me a long time to catch up on Rombi. shame

    Round 16

It is a difficult one. Sounds like either someone impersonating
John Williams
or perhaps it's older and is something which influenced him.

But then, it's all quite happy and cheery, so maybe it's
a Disney score
?

No idea. But might as well take a composer guess.
Giacchino
?

The score is from a Disney movie with a strong connection to Norway.
The composer is from the United Kingdom and this is one of his first film scores.

It was the hints. I've only heard bits of the score before.

p.s. Let someone else have my go.

    Ouch, don't know.
One guess I have is that the movie is about italian or sicilian culture, due to the mandolin (or whatever the instrument is called) playing. Hollywood often employ that sound in movies about italian gangsters. Am I on to something here, or am I completely wrong?
The recording I took the clip from was a re-recording of that cue, done at least 35 years after the score was written.

Nope... I am amazed nobody has got this yet. I thought this was the one score by this composer that people might get above all the others.
