  2. Helena. "Temat Heleny" means "Helena's Theme". As Polish has declension, the "Heleny" form is vocative smile .

    Another great piece (Voyage to Avalon - Kenji Kawai, featuring soprano Elżbieta Towarnicka)

    Avalon is top 10 material really. Both the film and its score are a great mixture of Japanese/Polish/(Eastern) European influences.

    I hope to revise a review originally written for another, no longer available, website soon.

  14. It was a Japanese-Polish co-production, filmed in Poland with Polish actors. The score was recorded in Poland with Polish musicians with choir singing in Polish. So there wink

    Contradictio in terminis... It's mesmerizing how a portion of these 'outdated' synths - the programming, the samples - have not lost its purpose in this hybrid score.

    I would love to hear other peoples favorites. Even review request and recommendations are more than welcome. I still have around a 100 reviews, desperately in need for revision. It feels like I barely scratched the surface.

    The end of the film provides for a new composition called Misericordia. The piece is sung in Latin by a mixed eight-part choir and accompanied by the string section and piano. It truly is rewarding hearing such a great meditative piece to conclude the score, a worthy tribute to the sainted Faustyna.
