Anyone here think they can take letters and change the color from black to red? Here is an example pick to work with:

You can do that on Paint. -

Well i think it'd be FAR easier if someone just told Justin how to do it in PHOTOSHOP instead of replying in the vein above.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Go into paint. Open the file. Use the colour fill tool and colour it red.
If you have photoshop go to Image > Adjustments > Hue And Saturation and adjust the hue. -

No, it was more fun avoiding the issue at hand.
And OMG, is there a complete list of smilies that work somewhere?! -

I don't think so.

I don't have photoshop, and Paint doesn't cut it because of makes the letters completely red, which makes them bukly and loses the font style that I wanted. If you maginify, you can see it's not pure black, but other shades, and I was thinking there is a program on photoshop that will color it red in automatically, but not making it completely one-tone red.The views and opinions of Ford A. There must be an FAQ somewhere that would help. -

Where did you ''write'' the letters. If it was just in Word or something then surely you could just change the colour there?! Or is this just an image you took off the net? -
- CommentTimeFeb 21st 2008
Off the net; this isn't a standard font. I got it did a Print Screen from MyFonts.com.
Anthony, here is the font:

Here are the ones that are free and could be categorized in the same class you are looking for. 20 pages, but perhaps something that is close to yours, is also good I hope.Kazoo -

I'm looking for a free, VERY simple program to edit pictures. I only have Microsoft Office Picture Manager (in addition to Paint, obviously), and it simply doesn't comply when I try to change the dimensions. Any recommendations?I am extremely serious. -

Does Picasa 3 fit the bill?

I'm still having problems editing the pictures, and perhaps you can help. Here is the problem:
The pictures need to be 500x212,18 pixels. Of course, when I resize many pictures to this unusual format (and don't have "keep aspect ratio"), the picture is "dragged out"/flattened out. I can't have "keep aspect ratio" either because it doesn't manage to get the correct size if I do.
So what do I do? I've tried to "crop" the picture to be as narrow as possible before I edit the size, but that STILL doesn't help.I am extremely serious. -

Get as close as you can using the keep aspect ratio and then crop. I'm not an expert with photoshop but it might work.

Unfortunately, it MUST be 500x212,18, so there's no approximation allowed.I am extremely serious. -

I'm sure there is a way, unfortunately one needs a degree to know everything about Photoshop.

Thor - this is easy to do in Microsoft Picture Manager.
- Open your original photo in Picture Manager.
- Now, select EDIT PICTURES (one of the tabs at the top) and then at the right of the screen select RESIZE
- Now, select CUSTOM WIDTH x HEIGHT. What we want to do is get the width down to 500 pixels. Type in 500 for the height and width. I have no idea WHY you have to do it that way but into order to get the right height dimension you have to type 500 into both height and width. Before hitting enter you will see just below what the new size dimensions will be. Hit OK.
- Now, select EDIT PICTURES, and select CROP. Crop the photo manually until you reach the 212 pixels for the height.
- There you go. Now, as for getting it down to 18dpi (what an odd number) that's something I do in photoshop. I have no idea how to do it anywhere else. You might want to try the EXPORT function under the FILE TAB. There you can save the file as a JPG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, etc. and fart around with the compression.
Using the instructions above I did THIS exported using 75% JPG compression
Now, if you want me to do all of this for you in Photoshop please send me the original image and I'd be more than happy to take a crack at this for you.

He does indeed! Thanks a bunch, Erik. I'll try it out asap and get back to you. The reason it is supposed to be so weird is that the film site I'm writing for, http://www.montages.no, wants to have the intro picture in the same format as a "widescreen". Quirky gimmick, I know, but I have to do what they wish.I am extremely serious. -

Why hasn't anyone mentioned GIMP yet? It's free and it's the closest thing to Photoshop out there.
