    He, he...yeah, it's just a job.

That said, I do prefer such programs over the PARADISE HOTELs, THE BACHELORETTEs and other crappy reality shows. It actually has a PURPOSE and something to be learned from it (closer to documentaries).

  2. All I see is a bunch of semi-naked people hugging and kissing in the streets. Clearly I'm missing something? confused

Not the fact that it's about a regurgitating man, but rather that I found out there's a UK Swallowing Research Group.

    A SWALLOWING RESEARCH GROUP. applause

Thor, I'm so sorry I didn't get to that thread in time, before it was locked, to sign it so I could have you banned from FSM, I hope you'll forgive me.

p.s. Seeing that moronic, cretinous prick LeHah getting a rebuke from Lukas Kendall made my day. biggrin cool

  6. An encounter with nature is usually something that makes the day a bit better. Although this encounter didn't start too well!

Anne woke me about 3am this morning, saying that she could "hear a noise downstairs". "Burglars!" was my first thought. And Anne thought that someone was trying to force a door or window open. So, I get dressed and - making as much noise as I could - make my way downstairs and switching on as many lights as possible.

Once downstairs I see that there's no-one in the house and that there doesn't seem to be any signs of a forced entry. I then go outside and check all the doors and windows for any signs of someone trying to force an entry. Nothing! Phew!!

Whilst I'm in the back garden (at the bottom of 3 steps leading to the lawn/garden) I hear what sounds like a crunching sound from an adjacent garden (a noise that I found out later was the noise Anne had heard). Whilst wondering what this could be (nature or human?) I then heard a rustling from a patch of broad-leaved grass in a corner of the garden, behind some garden chairs and a table. I then see something emerge from the grass though I can't really see what it is because of the garden furniture. But it looks like that danmed grey cat from next door.

Then, all of a sudden, out pops a young badger heading towards me, back to the steps. WOW!! I'd never seen a live badger before (only dead ones at the side of roads). Not wanting to startle it too much I made a soft sound so that it knew I was around. When it stopped it was only about 4 feet away. It looked at me and decided to retreat back to the patch of tall grass, where it waited until I had gone.

Made my day. A wonderful sight.

And I was glad it wasn't burglars!

Great story Alan, I too only saw my first live badger a couple of years ago, at Glastonbury Festival of all places, On the field we work in there's a large fenced off nature reserve and in the early hours the badgers would wander out scavenging for ( drugs? wink ) thrown/dropped food.

Thing is though, Thor, like myself and Alan, here in Britain most people only ever see badgers dead at the side of country roads sad
