  2. Thanks, Erik. I've been eagerly anticipating this show! I was glad to see some on your list that I hadn't heard yet (#14, #13, #7, #2). I'm going to have to give those more thorough listen now, excepting the Monkey King. I was especially glad to hear that suite, due to its unavailability.

I was also really glad to see some love for Tarzan! I think that's a great score, and I think it's kind of fallen off people's radar undeservedly.

And I agree with your #1 choice. Very good.

  4. Excellent. What a great tribute, Erik. I particularly like that you put the Horsemen music last. I had to make a really long drive today and I listened to nothing but Horner music the whole time (it was about 5 hours, I would guess), and when that Horsemen track came on I was really impressed by it. I'd heard it before of course, but it just hit me that this piece of music is brilliant even by Horner's standards. "Write Your Soul" indeed.

Speaking of that - I have a question. That piece that you had on the show was later released on itunes under that title - "Write Your Soul." Was there ever an itunes release of "The Fourth Horseman?" Did it get a different title? I downloaded "Write Your Soul" when I found it on there, but I never heard about that second piece of music being released. And now I can't find either of them for sale anywhere! Even the links to the original package from the Horsemen themselves that I clicked on didn't work any more. sad

    Thanks for listening, Christopher.

I don't know where you can find a copy of The Horseman now. LIke you said, the original package is no where to be found. The production company that produced the show is defunct. There's no sign of it on iTunes or anywhere else.

    The tracks I have are...

    1. The 4th Horsemen (3:58)
    2. Flight Demonstration Music (12:20)

I certainly hope some one releases it again!

I've been looking for the Horsemen stuff too. Hoping it makes a reappearance on iTunes at some point soon.
  5. Aside from the music tracks there were also 3 video clips included in that package, one where Horner talks about this new found passion in flying and why it inspired him to write this music. A hard watch nowadays.

Great idea for a topic. I'll have a listen in due time (right now, I'm swamped), but curious to hear what you say of what constitutes a Tomlinson recording, what to look/hear out for etc.
    I am extremely serious.

I mention that during my opening speech. One thing I did forget to mention though was Tomlinson's aversion of dynamic compression.
