This music is likely from Hollywood or Hong Kong movie (not sure) before 1992

    Anyone recognize it?

    It's a good piece.

I've no idea what it is? Sounds a little bit like something from Michel Legrand maybe?

Is it this theme that has inspired X-Ray Dog for their Gothic Power trailer music?

How should I know that Bregt? smile
All I know this is from a movie score from the early '90 and this was long THE trailer piece, long before X-Ray Dog, Immediate Music and all the other companies started writing their trailer music

Easy one. When people ask others to identify an unknown piece of music, 49% of them is "Carmina burana" and 49% is "Fire in a Brooklyn theatre". The last 2% are the hard ones.

The two first remind me of Dong-jun Lee. But considering that there are about 3 million very talented composers working in Asia for the moment, my guess is probably wrong.

I need some help with that clip. Official ISU biography of this skater says it's called "Wild Times" by Ennio Morricone but I couldn't find it anywhere and also it sounds a bit like "Le Professionnel" to me. dizzy

The music in the video sounds like Zbigniew Preisner. Perhaps Joep can help with the exact scores and piece.

  9. This clip is a bit embarrassing but needs must...

My son David asked me to identify the piece of music identified in the clip in the link below. The request being from David explains what the clip is - I'm only trying to have it identified.

    It's very familiar.

    The main link is http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/nevaland/

If whoever ventures to this link could choose "clips" and then choose the clip that is the lowest one of the four on the left hand side of the main screen (i.e., the one with Nev drinking through a straw).

Thanks. And remember, it's not for me but my son!

I gave it a try dude.
    But to no avail.

Like you said, it sounds quite familiar.
It kind of reminds me of the love theme from Johnny English though.
I think I'll listen to that now. smile

  10. I'm looking for a piece of music - but I have very little go on. And there's likely to be very few people who will be able to help.

It's NOT a film music piece, but is an instrumental "pop song" from sometime in the 1970s (I think). It made the charts in the UK and must have been around the same time as very early Jean Michel Jarre (Oxygene times). I've got this memory of an association with space somehow - maybe the track or band title (odyssey?) - but other than that, I'm stumped.

I can hear it in my head and I may be forced to find someone with an iPhone and that music-recognition app. But that doesn't help here.

I know it's very little to go on but by posting it here I feel that I'm at least trying all avenues...

A little bit more info might be helpful: is it a long piece? Orchestral? Pop combo? synthesized? What instruments stand out? Is there a solo? If so, by what instrument(s)? Is it a slow piece? Up-tempo?
