This is an exceptional score, truly one of the best of the year.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Another excellent cue from last year's brilliant film music: Molly's Solitude (The Ides Of March - Alexandre Desplat) http://bit.ly/w0eACdLove Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

What a year this guy had again. I absolutely love Tree of Life and Ides of March. I probably have only heard half of what he composed (and some loose tracks here and there on Facebook), but what has he done in France? Anyone still following that?Kazoo -

La Fille Du Puisatier. it's from 2011. Now, he has a French biopic for this year. I think this year he's going to take a break. He has already finished Moonrise Kingdom, and besides the French biopic, and The Spider House, there's nothing else for him this year.
But, he started 2011 with Largo Winch, The Tree Of Life and DH2, but then we had Carnage, the main theme of My Week With Marilyn, La Fille Du Puisatier, A Better Life, Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close, the music for Studio Canal's new logo.
So, it's possible that this year can be big for him, though most of the big proyects for 2012 had confirmed composers. -

Don't know yet if it's his best per se, but La Fille du Puisatier certainly is an incredibly beautiful piece of music that I listen to very often. It's elegant, warm and passionate without being sentimental. It's also a strong recommendation for those who feel his music can be cold and distancing, for this work is none of these things. -

If anybody didn't watched this yet, it's a great insight of how Desplat made The Golden Compass:

His synth demo program was better than the one he used on the Deathly Hallows demos. -

A really good interview, he comes across as a very nice and humble man.
p.s. Shave his hair off and he's a near dead spit of HENRY MANCINI.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

I can see why he's sought after, not just for his skills as a film composer. A very honest and humble man by the looks of it! -

Oh, she's not so bad. Most entertainment reporters are like that. It's rare for one of them to suddenly starting playing LAWRENCE OF ARABIA on piano though.A butterfly thinks therefore I am -
