What's with the subtitles? She doesn't have a speech impediment, she's perfectly easy to understand. -

Yeah, that annoyed me too. By all means, make her out to be even more challenged.
The tone of the item annoyed me anyway, with its "melancholy piano" emphasising the drama.
It's already bad enough as it is. No need to make it seem a TV Film Of The Week.'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

"...many will shout abuse."
Call me an optimist, but I'm pretty sure society isn't so bad that someone with an abnormal condition like this necessarily entails "lots of abuse" whenever they walk down the street? I'm sure that kind of behavior is in the minority. -

I picked up on that same point.
Agree with Martijn too, as if her predicament wasn't bad enough that it needed ruddy piano to accompany the report. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Notice it's ABC News, which is an american station. The subtitles are used with all the english people, not just the girl with the disorder. I find them perfectly understandable too, even though I'm not english. Perhaps the news station is worried that its viewers won't be able to figure out that "meself" means "myself".

I didn't properly check, but I think it was a British broadcast, wasn't it?
(Or do I just think that because the item was from the UK?)
EDIT:

How did I only read the bottom half of the message?
Anyway, fair enough. Nothing new there: Dutch and Flemish tend to subtitle one another's broadcasts as well, which may be construed as just as weird, as we both speak Dutch (albeit with noticeably different accents and vocabulary at times).'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

And by the parents. She looks like she is fed with Red Bull and Energy Drinks.
(Unless she is fat because of a disease or something, then I take back my words of course.) -

Babies are simply whining. Babes though can be very whining as well, but with them there's always a good reward at the end of the dayLove Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -
