That's why he's awesome! His limitations are moot as far as I'm concerned, that he's Jeff Goldblum is more than enough for me. -

I'm not as big a fan but yeah, I get you.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Oh yes, there's definitely quirk, but my kind of quirk. I love the way he mumbles, pauses, uses intonations etc. -- as if it's all just 'stream-of-consciousness' at times.I am extremely serious. -

I agree with Tim. Goldblum mostly plays being himself. With a persona that interesting that's quite worthwhile. Another actor like that IMO was John Wayne.
VolkerBach's music is vibrant and inspired. -
- CommentTimeFeb 9th 2016
I think Goldblum has FAR bigger scope than John Wayne ever did.
Much of this criticism has also been levelled at my no. 1 favourite actor, Jack Nicholson. That he only plays 'lunatics' and 'bad guys' etc. But they clearly haven't seen his more downscale efforts.I am extremely serious. -
- CommentTimeFeb 9th 2016
Nicholson, the analytical character actor ... Few don't pale when compared to him. But there are some in that liga.
Wayne: Ever saw "The Searchers"? Best performance by Wayne that I am aware of.Bach's music is vibrant and inspired. -

Ian Malcolm is one of the funniest serious characters in film ever.
'Now eventually we'll have dinosaurs on your dinosaur tour, right?'
Combined with his gaze in the camera..."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

I was a fan long before JURASSIC PARK (in fact, it was THE FLY -- which Timmer mentioned -- that first alerted me to him), but that was the role that cemented him in my Top 5.I am extremely serious. -

Oh yeah, The Fly, but that was more Cronenberg's film... his vision really made it into a unique horror flick.
And Powder? Gave a touching performance in that, and wasn't afraid to show his affection to a man."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

Ooh, aah, that's how it always starts. Then there's the running, and the screaming... -

There's not many I can think of that have the big screen charisma of Jack Nicholson. I find it harder to fault his appearances.
I suppose that compared to the novel his casting in The Shining was a bad choice. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

His casting in Batman was a stroke of genius. Who else can do such a devilish grin?"considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

Maybe, but he ate up that role to a far greater extent than the novel version of Jack Torrance ever did.
(we're getting pretty far away from David Arnold now).I am extremely serious. -

Cruise was directed by Spielberg in 'Minority Report' and 'War of the Worlds'
Spielberg gives much work to composer John Williams
John Williams replaced David Arnold on 'The Patriot'

The Patriot stars Mel Gibson.
Mel Gibson directed Braveheart.
Braveheart is scored by James Horner.
James Horner died.
So has David Arnold's film composing career.

I find Goldblum likeable but very limited as an actor. For me his peak was Cronenberg's THE FLY.
Yep. You don't need to see anything else to get a sense of what Goldblum can do as an actor. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

While everyone else is enjoying Thomas Wander and Harald Kloser's music for the sequel so much, I revisited Arnold's Independence Day

More pretentious types now seem to have retrofitted a kind of post-modern satire onto Emmerich’s intentions...

David Arnold flew in at the last minute for the film music festival in Krakow. It was awesome to see him play the Bond theme on the guitar during the End Credits of the live screening of Casino Royale.Editor-in-chief at http://soundtrackworld.com / http://soundtrackwereld.nl -
