This is one of Norway's most embarassing TV moments, but also so hilariously bizarre it makes me laugh every time. 80's host Ragnar Otnes (who?) tries to be hip and cool while rapping some nonsensical words to a...."kick the burger" dance?!? It just has to be seen to be believed:

It is.
The "sad" thing about that video is that a young Mads Ousdal, who is today one of Norway's most famous and sought-after actors, is the dancer here. You can clearly tell he wants to be anywhere else and quite embarassed by the situation (but tries to play along as a good sport). It's just that the cocaine-sniffing tv host is in a mind of his own.I am extremely serious. -

And I always thought that being an ignorant moron was a boon for a republican presidential candidate. Looks like this moment of idiocy cost him the candidacy.

Meh.
I have little love for much of the Republican agenda, but this is neither ignorance (just compare to Sarah Palin's woeful incompetence) or idiocy (Dan Quayle, we miss ya!).
It's simply a choke.
It happens to all of us at some time (more often when we're under pressure, but it really has to do with an overload of information and/or processing) and there a perfectly good biopsychological explanation for it.
Of course ever since the televised Nixon vs. Kennedy debates, we all know that appearance is everything, so it's a certainty Perry won't win the nomination. And you could make a case that any presidential candidate simply should be immune to pressure to such a degree that he'll never freeze.
But I honestly don't find this brain freeze idiotic, stupid or incompetent.
Sadly, as it was on live TV, it was spectacular.
