Nice, apart the fact that it looks like it was taken in the mid-70sI heard his score for OORLOGSWINTER today and i am really, really impressed by it.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

I know, I know. I used a very cheap 'one time shot' camera.
You heard the the 4 cues I imagine and not the entire score? -
- CommentTimeDec 1st 2008
Yeah, the 4 cues. And i am deeply impressed by it, i imagine there will be most excellent material on the full score.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

What about his score to Van Damme`s The Order, anyone here that heard that score and perhaps also wants that on CD? -

I vagely recall the score as one featuring a duduk and having a great theme. -

And it's Body Double indeed!
Intrada
Wow! World premiere release of oft-requested original soundtrack from Brian De Palma murder & obsession tale with Craig Wasson, Melanie Griffith, Dennis Franz. Pino Donaggio creates what might be his greatest masterpiece, compliments Hitchcock style visual set-pieces with massive musical set-pieces of his own. Signature display of Herrmann-ish strings, layers of bold over-the-top brass (particularly French horn) for claustrophobia sequences, sinous & sexy themes for sleaze elements, throbbing synths for graphic drill murder, dynamic orchestral action for final confrontation, you name it! At heart is primary love theme plus gentle secondary idea for high violins that lingers throughout. Complete score presented in brilliant stereo from original 30 i.p.s. multi-track session masters vaulted at Sony Pictures. Savor every note, from smallest keyboard cues and intricate synth overlays through porno-film source pieces to framing vampire movie music and grandiose orchestral fireworks! Natale Massara conducts. Intrada Special Collection CD limited to 3000 copies!

Watch the movie, Thomas. If you like the other movies of DePalma then you'll like this one too. And at 3000 copies you certainly have the time to decide if you want it or not. -

Got mine reserved for next year. Never heard of it before, but by reputation alone sure sounds like a winner! I've always been happy with Pino's work. The Hercules release this year was a total and absolute hoot!!!! Even Body Double is even half as good, I'll be satisfied.''The mandate, as well as the benefit, of responsibility is the ability to tell when one can afford to be irresponsible.'' - Me -

It's the first time Donaggio allowed someone else (the director) to select and name the tracks for a release! -

I got the CD to Oorlogswinter today. Haven't listen to it yet, though. The packaging only lists that the music is composed by the world famous film composer Pino Donaggio. It doesn't list anything else (conductor, orchestra, orchestrator, etc). -

I'm most curious as to what you think of it...
Btw, the tracklist you posted isn't entirely perfect. Quite a lot of cues are a second longer. -

My review is now online:
http://www.maintitles.net/reviews/oorlogswinter
And this is what the director had to say about the cd release:
"I was very honored that Pino allowed me to select the music for the cd release and that he let me choose the cue titles. It was the first time he had entrusted this to somebody else. I thought that the soundtrack had to be about 50 minutes long and above all, a beautiful representation of the score in the film. I had roughtly 80 minutes of score to choose from, which was more than Pino had ever written for a film. I began with the cues I thought were most important and significant. The first cue Pino made me listen to, at the time a midi version, was immediately spot on. The film wasn't finished yet, but already I felt he had understood what I wanted to tell and in which direction the music had to go. This was also evident in the name he had given this cue; 'Innocenza'. Everything on the release is presented in its original form, as written by Pino and without the editing modifications done for the movie." -

I assume that last sentence means that it is not done in the vein of PHANTOM MENACE: ULTIMATE EDITION, which of course was an unpopular rarity. However, the director probably thinks all soundtracks are presented that way.I am extremely serious. -

Yes. I don't know for sure, but I think he's aware of cd versions and film versions.
